Individuals who install electrical and electronic equipment as part of their business, such as electricians, plumbers, refrigeration technicians, technical assistance centers, etc., can set up their own collection points to store electronic waste from households following the installation of new products.
When installing a new equivalent product, these entities are in fact legally obliged to collect the WEEE from the end consumer.
The 4 mandatory steps
Installers can benefit from the collection service for domestic WEEE by Collective Systems subject to:
- Signing of the Operating Agreement and registration of the collection point where WEEE belonging to one or more groups is stored on the specific portal made available by the RAEE CdC;
- Guarantee of a minimum annual quantity equal to 1,200 kg of waste belonging to groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 and 120 kg of waste belonging to group 5;
- Guarantee of WEEE division into the five groups in compliance with the provisions of Decree 40/2023, as defined in the Conditions of Service document;
- Registration in the National Register of Environmental Managers for the collection and transport of household WEEE (category 3bis).
