We are WEEE and used batteries.
Do you know where to take us?
Here are 3 easy ways to dispose of them properly:
🏢 At the recycling station
Please take us to the recycling centers in your municipality.
🛒 One-on-One
Buying a new device?
The store will take your old device in exchange for free.
✔ New TV → Old TV
✔ New hair dryer → Old hair dryer
✔ New cell phone → Old cell phone
🔌 One to Zero
To return small devices under 25 cm to electronics stores, you don’t even need to buy a new one.
Stores larger than 400 square meters must accept them for free.
Some examples:
✔ headphones
✔ chargers
✔ mice
✔ remote controls
Remember that it is your duty —but also your right —to dispose of us in accordance with the three methods listed above: these are required by current Italian law.
If you notice any irregularities when dealing with us, please report them to the appropriate authorities.
🚫 Don’t throw us in the general waste!
(And don’t throw us in the environment either 😢 )
Why?
Our heavy metals are polluting
When we are scattered across the environment, the harmful substances inside us are released, contaminating the soil and groundwater and threatening the biodiversity of Planet Earth
We are putting the health of animals and humans at risk
It is not just the flora of Planet Earth that is at risk; the health of its fauna is also in danger. Contaminated water and food pose a risk for numerous diseases
The raw materials we contain are not returned to circulation
If we are not recycled properly, the raw materials inside us are not recovered and cannot be turned into secondary raw materials. In a world already marked by economic and geopolitical conflicts and resource scarcity, recovering what is inside us when we reach the end of our life cycle means that new mines do not have to be dug to search for new resources, which are often found only in certain parts of the world
♻️ Now you know that your waste doesn’t just “disappear.” After collection, WEEE and used batteries are processed at specialized facilities, where materials such as copper, aluminum, glass, plastic, and lithium can be recovered and reused.
