In order to import even a single battery, it is necessary toregister with the Batteries and Accumulators Registry (Legislative Decree No. 188 of November 20, 2008)!

Similarly, if you import along with batteries also Electronic Electronic Equipment (abbreviated as EEE) your company MUST complete theregistration with the EEE Registry (Legislative Decree No. 185 of September 25, 2007).

So many companies contact us every day because their goods turn out to be stuck in customs, and probably the cause is precisely the lack of registration in the registry.

Importing batteries or batteries without registration with the registry is an illegal activity for which there are penalties ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 euros!

How to obtain a Registration Number for the Batteries and Accumulators Registry?

1. Membership in a collective system (e.g., SINAB Consortium) by paying the annual management fee;
2. Payment of government tax of 168 euro + 16 euro stamp (for the Pile Register);
3. Declaration of placing on the market and payment ofeco contribution in relation to kg of imported Batteries/Accumulators;
4. Pile Register registration (managed and led by the Consortium).

Once enrolled, you will receive an enrollment number. It will be by communicating this number to customs that your goods will be unlocked.
