Disposable electronic cigarettes are classified as real electrical and electronic equipment containing a battery, so they are subject to EEE regulations (Legislative Decree 49/2014 and PA regulations (Legislative Decree 188/2008).
Obligation for manufacturers and importers
For manufacturers and importers of disposable electronic cigarettes there is an obligation to finance through eco-contributions the separate collection and proper treatment of waste from these devices. In particular there is an obligation to enroll in a Collective Funding System for EEE and PA compliance.
Where to dispose of them?
It is important for consumers to become aware of the proper handling of this waste, in fact very often it is thrown in the undifferentiated garbage, not knowing that since it is WEEE, it must be taken to collection centers or to retailers who provide collection containers.
