How to operate in compliance
The scope of the Standard requires manufacturers, importers, exporters and distributors to finance and organize the recovery and recycling of the products they produce or import into the Italian territory.
European Recycling Platform informs about the publication in the Official Gazette of the European Law 2018(Law No. 37 of May 3, 2019 - Provisions for the fulfillment of obligations arising from Italy's membership of the European Union), which provides some amendments related to Legislative Decree 49/2014, in accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
Currently in force is the European Directive 2018/849 implemented in Italy by Legislative Decree 118/2020 present in the Circular Economy Package.
Specifically, the changes concern:
>> Manufacturers' Obligations
>> Financing Household WEEE
>> Affixing the manufacturer's mark and symbol
